2019 Trouvère Indigene

2019 Trouvère Indigene

Pale lemon yellow in the glass, the 2019 Trouvère Indigene displays a fragrant nose of pear, yellow apple, chamomile, mint, and white flowers. The sensory arc of this wine is lovely—it unfurls slowly, with a burst of juicy orchard and pit fruit flavors buoyed by racy acidity that expands across the palate. The finish is tart and lively with lingering notes of pear skin, lime zest, and grapefruit pith.

The painting we chose for Indigene titled Basaltic Caves is a nod to the complex soils found in the Willamette Valley, including the basalt-based, highly weathered volcanic soils that define the Dundee Hills.

93 Points | International Wine Report
The 2019 Indigene is made from a white grape mutation of Pinot Gris grown in the Dundee Hills. A bouquet of fresh green pear and white wildflowers are present on the nose. On the first sip, green apples, lime zest, and warmed hazelnuts shine with juicy acidity, gives way to secondary characteristics of grapefruit pith and dried herbs. I loved this wine and am excited to see how it will evolve in the bottle over time. Only 72 cases produced. Drink 2021-2027 — Jeremy Young
