Fruit for the 2021 vintage was sourced from marquee vineyards including Freedom Hill, Durant, and select blocks from our own Estate. In addition to blending fruit from different sites, our winemaking team builds complexity into this wine by using a variety of fermentation vessels including stainless steel, neutral oak puncheons, and a kiss of concrete. Malolactic fermentation is limited, giving this wine terrific purity of fruit and plenty of acidic verve.

Aged predominantly in stainless steel, the 2021 Classiqué is a bit more plush and round than the 2020’s racy acidity. Grilled lemon, citrusy herbs, a hint of mountain sage, and just a touch of lemongrass are all present. It sports medium-high levels of acidity, but feels rich and luscious on the mid-palate. An incredible wine for the price point. Best Buy. Drink 2022-2028

"The 2021 Chardonnay Classique lifts with a bit of flint as well as juicy peach and melon rind. It is dry but ripe and rounded, with juicy pear, almond, and candied lemon, and has a soft, clean finish. This is a lovely and balanced wine for those who seek a fresh and fleshy style."
