The 2021 Pinot Noir Rosé comes from a selection of old vine Dijon clones 115 and 114 with a dash of Pommard and clone 113 grown on the higher elevation blocks of our Heritage Vineyard. The vineyard blocks selected to make this expressive wine were farmed specifically for the production of rosé.
This year's bottling is made by way of direct press. In winemaking terms, the juice is pressed off of the skins almost immediately, which results in a rosé that is light in color, and delicate in style. After a brief 4-month élevage, the finished wine was filtered and bottled.
It presents like a Provençal pink with transcendent, wildly fresh aromas of alpine strawberry, white peach, citrus blossom, and mint. In the mouth, it's airy and bright, with lifted red berry notes followed by stone fruit and coursing minerality.
