2022 Pinot Noir Reserve

2022 Pinot Noir Reserve

Our Reserve series wines have a higher percentage of fruit from our premier vineyard sites. These selections, made barrel by barrel, were carefully chosen over time and include fruit from Freedom Hill, Mistletoe, Durant, Yamhill, Hirschy, Madrona Hill, and our own Lange Estate vineyards.

By blending barrels from multiple vineyards, father and son winemaking duo, Don and Jesse Lange, have translated the vintage into a single cuvée while showcasing all the versatility and range pinot noir is capable of expressing. A hallmark of this series is the smoothly honed tannins that lend shape to a wine with fantastic richness, power, and nuance.

94 Points | International Wine Report
The stunning 2022 Reserve Pinot Noir by winemaker Jesse Lange excites me about what to expect for the vintage. A neon ruby core with a bluish rim in the glass, it pops with crushed boysenberry, black cherry, Earl Gray tea, fresh lavender flowers, and cedary herbs that spill from the glass. Tannins are smooth on the medium-bodied palate while delivering a finish that goes on for minutes. Better in 2024.

The outstanding 2022 Lange ‘Reserve’ Pinot Noir is nicely textured and weighted even so young. A pure core of red fruits greets you with stony soils. Mandarin orange zest and shades of baking spices. Complex and delicious, this is drinking beautifully right now. Drink 2023-2033.

92 Points | Jeb Dunnuck
Spicy and lifted, the 2022 Pinot Noir Reserve pours a jeweled ruby hue and is forward with aromas of medicinal herbs, black cherry preserve, and blood orange. Full-bodied and plush on the palate, it offers a velvety texture, with its characteristic floral perfume shining all the way through the palate, and has wonderful purity of its fruit on a long finish, with sweet tannins. It’s another super-charming wine now but will have a large drinking window as it shed its baby fat and reveals its more savory and umami tones. Drink 2023-2033.

91 Points | Sean Sullivan's Northwest Wine Report
Made from older vine fruit and a selection of top barrels, the aromas boast notes of red fruit, brown stem, grapefruit twist, and potpourri, still settling in. Lighter-styled black tea and red fruit flavors follow. It’s drinking young still but shows the vintages strength. 13.5% alcohol. Screwcap. 3,200 cases produced.
