Featuring clones Wädenswil, Pommard, 777, 667 and 115, these grapes were hand-picked, hand-sorted, and carefully vinified in small lots. This wine was fermented separately by block, allowing the Langes to better understand the wines and how they should be presented. Dubbed "the miracle vintage" by the media, the Willamette Valley hit late September 2011 with the fewest growing "degree days" of any vintage in our 40 year history. It was critical that we have a gorgeous October, and we did. Sugars accummulated, acids fell, pH's rose and flavors built up beautifully. These 2011 Pinots have incredible color intensity and firm, fine grained tannins with lovely blackberry, brambleberry qualities.
