Lange Estate Winery has been sourcing fruit from the Freedom Hill Vineyard since 1990 and began making its namesake single-vineyard Pinot Noir in 1996. The warm days and cool nights at this special site allow for complete fruit ripening while maintaining essential acid balance. The result is a structured and age-worthy wine.
The 2016 Freedom Hill Pinot Noir offers up a bouquet of brambly earth, pomegranate, huckleberry, and cigar box. A hint of tobacco precedes a round, velvety palate showcasing blueberry compote, Rainier cherry, vanilla, and licorice - all balanced by fine tannins, elegant acidity, and a finish that lingers.
