2022 Chardonnay Willamette Valley Classique

2022 Chardonnay Willamette Valley Classique

Fruit for the 2022 vintage was sourced from marquee vineyards including Freedom Hill, Durant, and select blocks from our own Estate. In addition to blending fruit from different sites, our winemaking team builds complexity into this wine by using a variety of fermentation vessels including stainless steel, neutral oak puncheons, and a kiss of concrete. Malolactic fermentation is limited, giving this wine terrific purity of fruit and plenty of acidic verve.

93 Points 'Best Buy' | International Wine Report
"Another stunning entry-level Chardonnay from Lange, this one the 2022 Classique that rested in 15% new French oak barrels. This quaffable wine sports energetic notes of freshly sliced pears, sweet baking spices, crushed minerals, and shades of tropical fruit. Light to medium-bodied, the delicious fruit-forward and saline finish complete the wine. 650 cases made." — Jeremy Young

92 Points | Wine Enthusiast
Fermented and aged in a combination of French oak, stainless steel and concrete, the Classique delivers quality for a modest price. Passion fruit, honeysuckle and toasted hazelnut aromas are a great start. Then, when the pear, lemongrass and lime zest flavors take over, you are prepared to invest in a case. This is a medium-bodied wine with gentle acidity. — Michael Alberty

The wines is made with oak, concrete and steel fermentation lots. The 2022 Dijon clonal selection ‘Classique’ Chardonnay was stored in 15% new French oak before bottling. This shows good ripeness and tension with nectarine and Pink Lady apple flavors that combine with juice starfruit and baking spices. Drink 2023-2031.

90 Points | Vinous
The 2022 Chardonnay Classique is remarkably pretty, with spring flowers, crushed green apples and hints of wet stone forming its bouquet. This lens toward the green tropical spectrum, silky-smooth and fresh, with honeyed inner florals resonating toward the close. It finishes with candied lime nuances and a sweet and sour character that calls the taster back to the glass. - By Eric Guido on January 2024. Drinking Window 2023-2027.
