A bouquet of black cherries, plums, earthy notes, dark chocolate, and vanilla. On the palate, ‘Magma Opus’ is luscious, showcasing flavors of Bing cherry, Cara Cara orange, and sweet cranberry mingled with clove and mushroom, creating a velvety texture balanced by vibrant acidity and minerality from its volcanic origin.
Jory Soil: Forged from ancient volcanic eruptions and recognized as Oregon’s official state soil in 2011, it was formed from the weathering of Columbia River basalt flows around 25-30 million years ago. Named after Jory Hill in Marion County and the Oregon Trail Pioneering Jory Family, this soil is deep, well-draining, and rich in iron. In fact, its famed iron content provides the distinct hue of the soil and contributes to the nickname ‘Red Hills of Dundee.’
